Tomás Sánchez, one of the most important and celebrated living Cuban Master. His work is meticulous in its breathtaking detail, but the objective of the artist is not so much the recreation of reality as it is displaying the magnificence of a lyrical universe.
Tomás Sánchez, born in Cuba in 1948, invents richly spiritual images of nature in his art. Sánchez graduated in 1971 in National Art School, Cuba. Tomás Sánchez was awarded the 1st prize of Drawing for Young Artists in the National Exhibition of Arts.

Paul Signac | Neo-impressionist painter

French painter Paul Signac (1863-1935) was born in Paris.

He followed a course of training in architecture before deciding at the age of 18 to pursue a career as a painter.

He sailed around the coasts of Europe, painting the landscapes he encountered.

He also painted scenes of cities in France in his later years.

Clarence Holbrook Carter born in Portsmouth, Ohio, was an American painter.

Carter's work is found in the collections of the Whitney Museum of American Art; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington D.C.; the James A. Michener Art Museum; the Cleveland Museum of Art; the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington D.C.; the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, PA; and many others.

Dopo le proteste degli utenti che riguardavano il Timeline/Diario per i profili, introdotto lo scorso dicembre, Facebook sta provvedendo di tornare alle origini, testando un nuovo look per il Timeline/Diario, molto assomigliante al precedente, riportando la Timeline/Diario ad una sola colonna. Infatti, sullo stesso Facebook, la pagina "Odio la Timeline di Facebook e voglio cambiarla subito" raccolse migliaia di commenti ed altretanto "mi piace".
La notizia che Facebook starebbe testando un nuovo look per i profili degli utenti è stata annunciata dal blog statunitense Mashable.com.

Lyonel Feininger | Cubist/Expressionist painter

Lyonel Feininger (1871-1956), American-born German painter, was the son of a concert violinist and a singer and pianist from Germany.

In 1887 Feininger followed his parents to Europe, where he attended the drawing and painting class at the "Gewerbeschule" in Hamburg and then studied at the "Königliche Kunst-Akademie" in Berlin from 1888-1892.

For one year he subsequently attended the private art school of the Italian sculptor Filippo Colarossi in Paris.

Kandinsky a Pisa | In esposizione 50 opere

Attraverso 50 opere provenienti in gran parte dal Museo di Stato Russo di San Pietroburgo e da collezioni private, il Palazzo Blu di Pisa, fino a 3 febbraio del 2013, ospiterà la magnifica produzione artistica del padre dell'Astrattismo, Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944).

L'esposizione, tra inediti e capolavori, ripercorre 20 anni di produzione del celebre pittore russo, quella tra il 1901-1922, quando Kandinsky accettò di insegnare al Bauhaus School insieme a Paul Klee (1879-1940), incarico offertogli da Walter Adolph Gropius (1883-1969), uno dei maestri del Movimento Moderno in Architettura.

Giulio II inaugurò la conclusione della volta della Cappella Sistina celebrando i vespri del 31 ottobre 1512.
Ieri sera alle 18.00, con la Celebrazione della Solennità di Tutti i Santi nella Cappella Sistina, Benedetto XVI, ripeteva lo stesso gesto in omaggio al capolavoro assoluto di Michelangelo a 500 anni di distanza esatti.
