Jim Tsinganos | Surrealist / Conceptual painter / Illustrator

Jim Tsinganos is a Sydney🎨 based Illustrator with over 20 years experience who has had 2 working stints in Amsterdam.

He is the recipient of numerous awards, both locally and internationally and is represented in the UK and the US. Working primarily with pastels and watercolor, he is interested in creating work with a strong conceptual basis.

This together with his keen sense of light give his work a unique and individual look that set it apart from the norm.

"I've been drawing for as long as I can remember. One of my earliest memories is of my dad sitting me down before our house guests and having me draw them. He was my first art director and that was my first assignment".

L'artista Australiano🎨 Jim Tsinganos ha più di 25 anni di esperienza nella illustrazione editoriale e collaborazioni con Time, Penguin Books, Amnesty International e molte altre testate e brand internazionali.

Tutte caratteristiche che lo rendono facilmente riconoscibile e danno ai suoi dipinti un effetto surreale e straniante, grazie anche ai cieli dei paesaggi, che talvolta tendono ad assomigliare a quelli di Dalì.

L’evoluzione tecnica l’ha portato dal pennello alla penna grafica, ma ha mantenuto la stessa impostazione.

In alcune interviste rivela la sua discendenza greca e di quanto, da bambino, fosse rimasto affascinato dalle icone greco-ortodosse; un fascino che ancora oggi è ben presente nella sua memoria.
