Guercino | Baroque painter

Giovanni Francesco Barbieri (1591-1666) was called Guercino in reference to his pronounced squint.
He was the leading Bolognese painter after the death of Guido Reni. His earlier pictures typically combine the chiaroscuro effects of Caravaggio with a charm and softness not usually found in followers of this artist.

Tintoretto | Mannerist painter

Tintoretto (1519-1594) was an artist of immense output and dramatic style who emerged from the Venetian School of painting.
He was one of the best known Venetian painters next to Titian (1485-1576), having very briefly trained under the master.
Tintoretto had high ambitions, and adorned an inscription in his studio that said, "Michelangelo’s design and Titian’s Color".
In this he sought to produce the brilliant compositional methods of Michelangelo, while using the bold coloring of Titian; a goal of the highest order for Renaissance painting.

Duffy Sheridan, 1947 | Realistic Figurative painter

Duffy Sheridan, American painter🎨, has been painting since he was a child. His father, also an artist, encouraged him to learn to paint anything and everything. He has traveled the world and dedicated his artistic life to the discovery and expression of beauty as he sees it.
Although he and his family spent many years in relative seclusion in the far corners of the world, Sheridan's work has attracted the attention of collectors on five continents.
Since returning to the United States in 1991, his work has received international acclaim and he has been designated a Living Master by the Art Renewal Center.
His paintings can be found in prestigious institutions from a Cathedral in the South Pacific to the US Air Force Academy to corporate headquarters in Manhattan, as well as in the private residences of kings, judges, bishops, doctors and collectors all over the world.
For over 35 years the teachings of the Baha'i Faith have been the primary influence of Sheridan's life and work and have dominated his continual search for that balance of craftsmanship and artistic expression which has the ability to elevate, in some small way, the human condition.

Stanisław Witkiewicz was an ardent supporter of Realism in Polish art, its main representative being Jozef Chełmoński.
The Młoda Polska (Young Poland) movement witnessed the birth of modern Polish art and engaged in a great deal of formal experimentation led by Jacek Malczewski (Symbolism), Stanisław Wyspiański, Józef Mehoffer, and a group of Polish Impressionists.
