Ukrainian-born Canadian painter* Yanina (Yana) Movchan was born in Kiev.
Yana’s sublime mastery of the technique and structure of Renaissance painting* combines with the instinctive symbolism* of "magical realism" to create a personal neo-realist idiom. Her work is formal, yet playful; contemporary, yet timeless; and joyous, yet mysterious, evocative and dreamlike.

Angelo Vadalà, 1940 | Figurative painter / Sculptor

Angelo Vadalà was born in Messina, Italy. He started painting five decades ago, when he was only 12. At the age of 18, Vadalà left Sicily to live and study in Florence, officially to attend university and study architecture.
But after two years of study at the Florence University of Architecture, Vadalà found he was distracted by what the many museums of that beautiful city contained, and not by the stone and wood that housed the art.
From his study of architecture, Vadalà had received a foundation in the art and technique of draftsmanship. Combined with his innate artistic talent and his personal study of art in the museums and churches of Florence, he paid the same scrupulous attention to mastering the techniques of painting, as it applied to the human form.

Eric Wallis, 1968 | Ballet dancers

"I love the movement and anatomical definition that dancers have characteristically. There is power in their bodies that they use to convey beautiful grace and emotional verbiage. It is difficult to capture that in a 2 dimensional work and therefore it embodies a challenge that I enjoy" Eric Wallis.
