Thierry Duval was born in Paris, France. His watercolors are characterized by a strong light and precision in drawing, being almost or hyperrealist in the results mainly in his Paris watercolors. By using glazing technique he works in several steps up to get the final, very realistic result. As was said, light is strong in almost all his artworks.

Edward Robert Hughes | Pre-Raphaelite painter
Edward Robert Hughes RWS (5 November 1851 - 23 April 1914) was an British painter who worked prominently in watercolours. He was influenced by his uncle, and eminent Pre-Raphaelite, Arthur Hughes.
Having settled on his career choice, Edward Hughes attended Heatherley's in London to prepare himself for the chance of auditioning for the Royal Academy School. Hughes became a student at the Royal Academy School in 1868. While Pre-Raphaelitism played an influential part in shaping Hughes work, Aestheticism is also seen in his paintings.
William Merritt Chase | Impressionist painter
Born in Indiana, William Merritt Chase (1849-1916) showed artistic talent as a young boy.
His family arranged for him to begin formal training in art at the age of eighteen with a local portrait painter in Indianapolis.
In 1869 Chase went to New York, where for two years he was a student at the National Academy of Design.

Ippolito Caffi (1809-1866) was an Italian visionary landscape painter of the 19th century.
Compared to Canaletto for his undoubted perspective skills, Ippolito Caffi actually 'exceeds' the great eighteenth-century master bringing the genre of landscape painting on to a contemporary level thanks to his ability to represent the air in painting and a thorough study on the effects of light.

Hans Zatzka | Water Lilies
Austrian painter with an academic style, Hans Zatzka (1859-1945) is also known under the pseudonyms of Zabateri, P.Ronsard, Bernard Zatzka and Joseph Bernard.
He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna from 1877 to 1882, where he took lessons with Christian Griepenkerl, Carl Wurzinger and Carl Von Blaas.
In 1880, the twenty years old painter received his first reward, the Goldene Füger-Medaillen.
