Romà Ribera | Painter of the Belle Époque

Romà Ribera i Cirera (Barcelona, 1848-1935) was a Catalan genre painter.
He specialized in contemporary scenes from upper-class social events, rendered in meticulous detail, but also did numerous scenes from life in the 17th and 18th centuries.
He studied at the Escola de la Llotja and at the private school operated by Pere Borrell del Caso.
In 1873, he went to Rome to complete his studies.
While there, he met Marià Fortuny, who works would influence his style.

Noemi Martín, 1975

Noemi Martin was born in Barcelona.
She has shown a great love for painting since her early childhood.
At the age of sixteen, she entered the Massana School in Barcelona where she studied painting.
Noemi Martín’s work revels in imaginary spaces in which perspective is the only form of architecture, and in which her unmistakable ochres, greys and yellows bathe every detail, creating a world which, although imaginary, reflects an infinite number of realities and the most intimate of our sentiments, like a mirror.

Emilio Grau Sala (1911-1975) | Colorist painter

Emilio (Emi) Grau Sala was a Catalan painter. He studied at the Escuela de Bellas Artes de Barcelona.
He was a famous colorist (oil painting, watercolor and pastel) and illustrator.
Having made his debut at the Salon des Humoristes in Paris when extremely young, he had his first one-man show in Barcelona at the age of 18, and went on to have shows of his work throughout the world - Paris, Madrid, London, Buenos Aires, New York.

Ramón Casas i Carbó | Il pittore modernista


Ramón Casas i Carbó (1866-1932) è stato un pittore Spagnolo, famoso per i suoi ritratti e caricature della buona società di Barcellona, Madrid e Parigi.
Divenne famoso anche per i suoi quadri sulle rivolte sociali.
Fu anche disegnatore grafico e cartellonista pubblicitario, mezzi con cui diffuse il movimento modernista.
Figlio di una famiglia benestante, il padre aveva fatto fortuna a Cuba e la madre proveniva da una ricca famiglia, rivelò presto la sua inclinazione per l’arte.
