Born in San Antonio, Texas, Alex Tabet is predominantly a portrait, figure painter and an occasional still life painter.
As a young boy, Alex began exploring art by studying art books and taking online lessons.
In early 2019, he began studying figure painting from life in oil with Julia Diller at the Atelier of Fine Art, in Los Angeles.
He later continued his training in a self-taught way, learning much from online tutorials and workshops from several notable classically-trained artists such as Andrew Tischler, East Oaks Studio with Alex Venezia, Michael Klein, Louis Carr, Stan Prokopenko, Marco Bucci and Scott Waddell.
- "Ever since I can remember I have always loved to draw.
I was fascinated by how much could be conveyed simply using a pencil and paper.
My childhood was spent teaching myself how to perfect this ability for nothing more than pure enjoyment".
"However, after graduating from college I moved to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, and stopped drawing for ten years.
In that time, I learned more about myself than I could have ever imagined, as acting is a craft about self expression.
Only two and a half years ago, I rediscovered my passion for drawing, and began again to express myself through that medium.
Overtaken by my newfound desire, I started learning how to paint for the first time, and have now dedicated my life to this beautiful art form".
