Sewing patterns, patterned fabrics and papers, charcoals, and soft pastels blend in collaged layers to illuminate the topography of her figurative art.

Jill is a pastel and mixed media artist living and working in the small coastal town of Dana Point, California.

She discovered the power of creativity at young age.

She was greatly influenced by the places where she lived as a child and young adult including England and Texas.

Her family artistically guided and nurtured her creativity with art, museums, and homes that were filled with crafts and textiles.

After completing a BFA in Fine Art, and an MFA in Drawing from Laguna College of Art and Design, Jill has won many awards for her paintings and has participated in numerous group exhibitions.

Her works are in public and private collections, including the Hilbert Museum of California Art, and the Laguna Art Museum.

She can be found in her home studio with her loving and supporting husband of 30 years, her three children and the best dog she has ever known.

In 2023, Jill Maytorena received American Art Collector’s Award of Excellence for work featured in Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach.

Jill è un'artista pastello e tecnica mista che vive e lavora nella piccola città costiera di Dana Point, in California.

Ha scoperto il potere della creatività in giovane età.

È stata fortemente influenzata dai luoghi in cui ha vissuto da bambina e da giovane adulta, tra cui Inghilterra e Texas.

La sua famiglia ha guidato e nutrito artisticamente la sua creatività con arte, musei e case piene di artigianato e tessuti.
