Danny Day, 1964 | Romantic Realism painter

Danny Day has established a reputation worldwide for the high quality of his original works of art.

Danny has made it a lifelong quest to master and refine his version of realism, perfecting the "master’s technique" of oils on canvas.

Rich color and eye popping clarity are the hallmarks embodied in his works, which range in genre from sports to wildlife, auto racing, and lush romantic portraits.

Danny has also added commercial photography to his repertoire.

Born in the small town of Marion, Ohio, Danny strived to excel in all aspects of his early life.

He was a standout defensive back on the football gridiron and won the state indoor pole vaulting championship.

He graduated from High school with a 4.0 grade point average, was named valedictorian and received the highest scholarship offered by the Columbus College of Art and Design.

After graduating in 1986 from CCAD magna cum laude, Danny relocated to California, where he struggled for a number of years to scrape together a living as an illustrator.

However, his passion for painting realistically and in oils, prevailed, and Danny veered his career back toward Fine Art, as he always envisioned himself first and foremost as a fine artist.

Beginning with a few small galleries in the early 90's in San Diego, Danny’s art has gained worldwide recognition and a committed following in the last thirty three years.

He has worked with some of the most famous athletes of all time, has numerous collectors, and his work has been shown in galleries both nationally and internationally.

Danny ha intrapreso una ricerca permanente per padroneggiare e perfezionare la sua versione del realismo, perfezionando la "tecnica del maestro" degli oli su tela.

Colori intensi e chiarezza strabiliante sono i tratti distintivi incarnati nelle sue opere, che spaziano dallo sport alla fauna selvatica, alle corse automobilistiche ed ai ritratti romantici e lussureggianti. Danny ha anche aggiunto la fotografia commerciale al suo repertorio.

Nato nella piccola città di Marion, Ohio, Danny ha cercato di eccellere in tutti gli aspetti dei suoi primi anni di vita. Era un difensore eccezionale sulla griglia di calcio e ha vinto il campionato statale di salto con l'asta indoor.

Si è diplomato al liceo con una media di 4.0, è stato nominato valedictorian e ha ricevuto la borsa di studio più alta offerta dal Columbus College of Art and Design.

Dopo essersi laureato magna cum laude al CCAD nel 1986, Danny si è trasferito in California, dove ha lottato per diversi anni per guadagnarsi da vivere come illustratore.

Tuttavia, la sua passione per la pittura realistica e ad olio ha prevalso e Danny ha virato la sua carriera verso le belle arti, poiché ha sempre immaginato se stesso prima di tutto come un bravo artista.

A partire da alcune piccole gallerie all'inizio degli anni '90 a San Diego, l'arte di Danny ha ottenuto riconoscimenti in tutto il mondo.

Ha lavorato con alcuni degli atleti più famosi di tutti i tempi, ha numerosi collezionisti ed il suo lavoro è stato esposto in gallerie sia nazionali che internazionali.
