American Artist Mark Beck is considered one of the country's top realism and landscape painters.

With a unique vision and decades-long career, he is well known for his iconic and bold images of the American landscape.

Born in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Beck studied at the Portland School of Art in Maine.

For four years, Beck worked teaching inmates to paint at the maximum security prison The California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo.

"I've always credited that experience with being a continuing and fascinating source of inspiration for my paintings", said Beck.

"Many aspects of the prison system and the people incarcerated there can teach us a lot about our life here in America".

Nato a Las Cruces, nel New Mexico, Mark Beck ha studiato alla Portland School of Art nel Maine.

Per quattro anni, Beck ha lavorato insegnando ai detenuti a dipingere nella prigione di massima sicurezza The California Men's Colony a San Luis Obispo.

"Ho sempre attribuito a quell'esperienza il fatto di essere una continua e affascinante fonte di ispirazione per i miei dipinti", ha affermato Beck.
