Ismaël Costa, 1965

Coming from a family from Barcelona in Spain, Ismaël has lived in Provence since the age of nine.

His childhood was devoted to the practice of drawing, and more particularly to the genre of comic strips which he was fond of.

As a teenager, his interest led him more towards the study of portraits.

Ismaël began working at the age of sixteen, first as a designer for a publishing house, then as an illustrator in a Parisian communications agency.

However, despite a profession focused on handling the pencil, the young artist returned to the south of France and devoted himself to the pleasures of pictorial creation.

It was in 2006 that Ismaël made his wish come true, by opening his artistic business in the town of Monteux, located in the heart of the Vaucluse department.

For more than twenty years Ismaël has devoted himself with passion to the creation of his paintings.

His workshop is located in La Traversée des Arts, an axis in the historic center of the city which allows the public to discover a collective of artists and craftsmen.

Mixing acrylic paints, oil, aerosol paints, oil pastels, Ismaël shows us figurative works executed with great freedom of movement using a palette of frank and varied tones, thus giving them a resolutely dynamic and contemporary character.

Proveniente da una famiglia di Barcellona in Spagna, Ismaël vive in Provenza dall'età di nove anni.

La sua infanzia è stata dedicata alla pratica del disegno e più in particolare al genere dei fumetti a cui era appassionato.

Da adolescente il suo interesse lo porta maggiormente verso lo studio dei ritratti.

Ismaël inizia a lavorare all'età di sedici anni, prima come disegnatore per una casa editrice, poi come illustratore in un'agenzia di comunicazione parigina.

Tuttavia, nonostante una professione incentrata sull'uso della matita, il giovane artista torna nel sud della Francia e si dedica ai piaceri della creazione pittorica.

È nel 2006 che Ismaël realizza il suo desiderio, aprendo la sua attività artistica nella città di Monteux, situata nel cuore del dipartimento della Vaucluse.

Da più di vent'anni Ismaël si dedica con passione alla realizzazione dei suoi dipinti.

Il suo laboratorio si trova a La Traversée des Arts, un asse nel centro storico della città che permette al pubblico di scoprire un collettivo di artisti ed artigiani.

Mescolando colori acrilici, olio, colori aerosol, pastelli ad olio, Ismaël ci mostra opere figurative eseguite con grande libertà di movimento utilizzando una tavolozza di toni schietti e variegati, conferendo loro così un carattere decisamente dinamico e contemporaneo.
