Hermann Seeger | Genre painter

Hermann Seeger (1857-1945) was a German genre and landscape painter. Seeger was also known as a talented engraver. Seeger was born as the son of master tailor Carl Seeger and his wife Henriette, born Meyer, on October 15, 1857.

After the Franco-Prussian War 1870-1871, a prisoner French officer lived with Hermann's parents and gave him an ink box.

In 1875 Hermann Seeger graduated from high school, then he studied philology in Halle. During his studies he became a member of the Fridericiana Halle in 1878-79.

After completing his studies, he worked as a teacher in Halberstadt and did his doctorate on Old French.

From 1883-1885 he tried his hand at the secondary school in Halberstadt as a trial candidate and assistant teacher. However, his activity as a teacher did not satisfy him.

For this reason, in May 1885, with the financial help of his siblings, he began further studies at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin with Paul Thurmann and Gussow, which he completed in 1887.

Here he also met his future wife Marie Cramer von Clausbruch (sister of Rudolf Cramer von Clausbruch). She studied at the University of Music and Singing.

On April 1, 1887, the two got engaged. In 1894 Hermann Seeger got a director's assistant position at the royal university for the fine arts and so they were finally able to get married on April 17, 1895.

They had four children together: Conrad, Reinhart, Hildegard and Ilse.

From 1887 Seeger was a private student of Karl Gussow (1843-1907) for a year. Then he worked as a painter and graphic artist in Berlin.

Seeger painted in oils on canvas and on other substrates such as B. hard fiber. His many pictures of girls (especially his daughters Hildegard (1899-1983) and Ilse (1904-1994, later married to Wolfgang Pohl) in the dunes on the Baltic coast are particularly well known.

Ha studiato all'Università di Musica e Canto.

Il 1 aprile 1887 i due si fidanzarono.

Nel 1894 Hermann Seeger ottenne un posto di assistente alla regia presso la Royal University for the Fine Arts e così finalmente poterono sposarsi il 17 aprile 1895.

Hanno avuto quattro figli insieme: Conrad, Reinhart, Hildegard e Ilse.

Dal 1887 Seeger fu allievo privato di Karl Gussow (1843-1907) per un anno.

Poi ha lavorato come pittore e grafico a Berlino. Seeger dipinto ad olio su tela e su altri supporti come fibra dura.

Sono particolarmente noti i suoi numerosi quadri di ragazze (soprattutto le figlie Hildegard (1899–1983) ed Ilse (1904–1994, in seguito sposate con Wolfgang Pohl) nelle dune della costa baltica.
