Rob Hefferan, 1968 | Figurative painter

Born in Warrington, Cheshire, Rob Hefferan is an exceptionally talented figurative artist. His work not only captures the unique character and warmth of each subject, but transcends form to suggest the living, breathing essence of the individual.

The pinnacle of figurative realism is to elicit the animating force that resides behind the density and delicacy of human form and structure. Working with the living architecture of the human body, Rob recreates the poetry of the skin’s tone and structure and pays homage to the complex interaction of musculature, tissue and bone.
Every brushstroke has the ability to reach out from the canvas to embrace our senses.

Steve Hanks (1949-2015)🎨, the Master of Watercolor and Figures passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 22 after a battle with cancer.
"Art comes from a deep inner sense of direction. It starts with a re-evaluation of your own life, from a search for the source of the impulses and mystery of it all. I think of myself as an emotional realist. Emotion is what I want to portray. Realism is just my way of doing it"- Steve Hanks

Steve Hanks is recognized as one of the best watercolor artists working today. The detail, color and realism of Steve Hanks’ paintings are unheard of in this difficult medium. A softly worn patterned quilt, the play of light on the thin veil of surf on sand, or the delicate expression of a child — Steve Hanks captures these patterns of life better than anyone.
