Nord Carolina based artist Larry Duke is an American painter ⎆, know for working in in the Figurative Impressionism style ⎆. As a young person, Duke discovered an aptitude and love for drawing and has enjoyed art ever since.
His interest intensified and became even more passionate 11 years ago when he started oil painting with a local artist (Manny Rashet). Over the past six years he has worked with Andy Braitman where he mastered his unique combination of loose brush work and palette knife ⎆.










Duke's style of art has been greatly influenced by renowned ballet and figure painters, Edgar Degas ⎆ and Robert Heindel ⎆ and more recently by contemporary artists, Andy Braitman, Cynthia Packard, Larissa Strunowa and Andrew Salgado.


His paintings reflect the natural beauty and emotion of the human form and his creative use of color, texture, movement, and design.
In 2013, Duke’s art was awarded ⎆ "Best in Show" at the Davidson Art on the Green.
In addition, Duke was the 2013 Art with Heart Emerging Artist runner-up. When not painting, Duke manages an executive search firm in Cornelius, NC and is a graduate of Boston College.
