Georgian artist Merab Gagiladze was born in Tbilisi.
In 1987 he began his formal art education at the Tbilisi College of Art, School of Ceramics.

In 1990 he continued his studies at the prestigious Tbilisi State Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1996 with a degree in Graphic Art.
His works have been exhibited in numerous collectible shows in galleries all over his native Georgia, as well as in England, Ireland, France and the United States.
Merab’s artwork reflects the beauty and variety of life. It transmits the joys, sorrows and dreams of an ordinary man.
The artist draws his unique characters from history, mythology and religion. He often uses symbolism to enrich the content of his artwork; beautiful and subtle ornaments add elegance and light to his remarkable paintings. Complex textures, hues and compositions reveal a technical sophistication as well as an elaborate imagination.
