Javad Soleimanpour, 1965 | Portrait and Plein Air painting

Iranian painter Javad Solimanpour was born in , Tebriz. His first exhibition was in 1978 at a time when he was working on reproductions of the famous paintings in Saadabat Palace Museum. Since 1998 the Seven Art Gallery organizes his personal exhibitions in İstanbul, where Soleimanpour continues both painting and teaching at the same time.

Javad Soleimanpour burst upon the pastel scene in April 2009 when he won first place in the Landscape and Interior category in that year’s Pastel 100.

He himself had no idea he had been entered for the competition by one of his students. The winning painting was a stormy seascape with the Haydarpasa lighthouse – Soleimanpour has lived for the last five years on the shores of the Sea of Marmara that connects both to the Black Sea and the Aegean – no lack of subject matter with seven lighthouses on Istanbul’s shoreline

Soleimanpour is self-taught, painting since the age of 12 and painting professionally for quarter of a century. He likes to work plein air, but will often finish a work in the studio.

Soleimanpour has this to say about his life as an artist: "Since my childhood I only wanted to paint, and nothing else. I have painted the people and things I liked. The people always had things to tell but they never knew that I just liked to watch them talking instead of listening, which maybe I must apologize for. The faces with all of their ripples, texture and the shadows… time stands still when I paint. And what lies behind the engaging of my art with the viewer is something that comes from deep inside, in my heart. That never ending intensive feeling and to deal with any issues on painting have become mundane for me, such as breathing".

Javad Solimanpour nasce nel 1965, Tebriz. La sua prima mostra è stata nel 1978 in un momento in cui stava lavorando riproduzioni dei famosi dipinti a Saadabat Palace Museum. Dal 1998 la Galleria d'Arte Sette organizza le sue mostre personali ad Istanbul, dove Soleimanpour continua sia la pittura e l'insegnamento allo stesso tempo.

Javad Soleimanpour si è presentato sulla scena pastello nel mese di aprile 2009, quando ha vinto il primo posto nella categoria Paesaggio e interni in quell'anno pastello 100. Egli stesso aveva idea che era stato inserito per il concorso da uno dei suoi allievi. Il dipinto vincente è stata un paesaggio marino tempesta con il faro Haydarpasa - Soleimanpour ha vissuto gli ultimi cinque anni sulle rive del Mar di Marmara che si collega sia al Mar Nero che al Mar Egeo - non mancano di argomenti con sette fari sul litorale di Istanbul.

Soleimanpour è autodidatta, disegna dall'età di 12 e professionalmente da un quarto di un secolo. Gli piace lavorare plein air, ma spesso termina i lavoro in studio.

Soleimanpour parla della sua vita di artista:.. "Fin dalla mia infanzia ho voluto solo dipingere, e nient'altro. Ho dipinto le persone e le cose che mi piacevano. Le persone hanno sempre cose da raccontare, ma non hanno mai saputo che preferivo vederle parlare invece di ascoltarle. I volti, con tutte le loro ondulazioni, la consistenza e le ombre ... il tempo si ferma quando dipingo. E cosa si nasconde dietro il coinvolgimento della mia arte con lo spettatore è qualcosa che viene da dentro, dal mio cuore".
