Andrew Gifford (b. Sheffield, 1970) is now recognised as one of the most innovative landscape painters working today.
His paintings and light installations have been widely exhibited, including solo public shows at Leeds City Art Gallery (2004), Fruitmarket Gallery Edinburgh (2001) and Middlesbrough Art Gallery (2000). Collections include the New Art Gallery, Walsall and Chatsworth House and in private collections in Europe, USA and Japan. A monograph on the artist was published in 2005.

Andrew Gifford e' nato nel 1970. Vive e lavora a Brighton, GB.
Andrew Gifford è oggi ampiamente riconosciuto come uno dei pittori paesaggistici più innovativi a livello internazionale. Andrew è sempre in viaggio alla ricerca di paesaggi che possano ispirare i suoi quadri. Recentemente ha visitato Budapest, Hong Kong e Milano. Ha vissuto molti anni in Francia per poi trasferirsi a Brighton (Inghilterra) dove risiede attualmente.
Per celebrare l'apertura della galleria ha dipinto una serie di quadri su commissione che raffigurano la città di Milano. Avendo già esibito opere di grande successo raffiguranti paesaggi di Londra, Parigi, Budapest, Berlino e Istanbul, per citarne alcuni, questo rappresenta per l'artista il primo progetto italiano e segna il proseguimento del suo studio appassionato sulle luci delle città, che combinano forti identità industriali e storiche.
Nell'arco di una settimana, nel Ottobre del 2010, l'artista si è concentrato su una veduta dei Navigli, guardando verso est, lungo Ripa di Porta Ticinese da Viale Cassala, su una veduta di Piazza Cadorna da Viale Giosuè Carducci, e ancora su una veduta della Tangenziale, vicino alla zona di Romolo.
