Teresa Elliott, 1953 | Hyperrealist painter

Teresa Elliott was born in Weatherford, Texas. As a young adult she sketched portraits building a foundation for a career in the fine arts.

In 1976 while attending The University of Kansas she worked as a forensic sketch artist for the Lawrence Kansas Police Department.

After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Elliott returned to her native Texas where she spent 25 years as a leading freelance illustrator in Dallas. Word of her talents spread quickly after her figurative art appeared in projects for Neiman Marcus.

“During college it was a photography class that opened my eyes to designing with light. I never paid attention to color until I started oil painting, but my years of working with all the greys laid the foundation for what was to come later. I constructed my career in illustration on that basis, then naturally turned to painting in color”, she said.

Elliott’s work has been featured in numerous publications and she has received several prizes🎨, including the 2009 and 2010 People’s Choice from Coors Western Art Exhibit in Denver.

Teresa ha ricevuto una quantità spropositata di premi per il suo lavoro. Il suo dipinto più premiato rappresenta un’immagine estremamente realistica di bambini che trascorrono il tempo nel fango: si trova attualmente al World Art Museum di Beijing, in Cina, ed è stato esibito al Butler Institute of Art nel gennaio 2012.

Oltre ad aver fatto guadagnare a Teresa il Grand Prize Winners alla competizione “America China Oil Painting Artists League”, sempre nel 2012 ha ricevuto anche un premio🎨 al Chairman’s Choice alla competizione “Art Renewal Center Internazional”.

Le immagini sono a volte tanto realistiche, curate nei dettagli e nei giochi di luce, che sembrano vere e proprie foto. In ogni caso, l’effetto tridimensionale è assicurato, indice di una lunga esperienza trascorsa dietro ai pennelli ed alla fotografia.
