Andres Barrioquinto, Filipino painter, was born in Manila but his family kept on switching residencies due to the nature of his father’s job who was a writer/editor. He spent his teenage years in Hong Kong, studying at Royden House School. Then he went back to Manila to get his college education.
Barrioquinto graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Santo Tomas in 2000. A prestigious recipient of the Thirteen Artists Award, 2003 bestowed by the Cultural Center of the Philippines, he has had 19 solo exhibitions in the Philippines and 5 in Singapore. His works reside in the collections of several noted collectors and the Singapore Art Museum, and he has been successfully auctioned at Sotheby's in Hong Kong. He currently as of 2011, paints with a complex, deeply layered and patterned style.
