Pierre Carrier-Belleuse | Ballet dancers

Pierre Carrier-Belleuse, French painter was the son of famous painter and sculptor Albert Carrier-Belleuse 1824-1887.

Similarly to his brother Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse, he learned his artistic trade from his father.

He studied under Alexandre Cabanel and Galland at the École des Beaux-Arts and exhibited at the Paris Salon for the first time in 1875.

He mastered working with pastels, and was best known for his scenes of the ballet, as well as producing landscapes, historical and Genre works. He exhibited regularly at the Salon and other venues in Paris including the Society of French Artists 1888 and the National Society of Fine Arts 1893-1911.

He received an honorable mention for his work in 1887 and a silver medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1889. His work can be found today in many museums across France, including in La Rochelle, Gray and Le Puy.

Pierre-Gérard Carrier-Belleuse [Parigi, 29 gennaio 1851-1932] è stato un pittore Francese.

Era figlio del pittore Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse e fratello di Louis-Robert Carrier-Belleuse, anch'egli pittore e scultore. Studiò alla Scuola di Belle arti di Parigi, essendo dapprima allievo di suo padre e quindi del pittore Alexandre Cabanel.

Pierre Carrier-Belleuse si è reso noto soprattutto per le sue scene del balletto, così come per la produzione di paesaggi e opere di genere. Ha ricevuto una menzione d'onore per il suo lavoro nel 1887 ed una medaglia d'argento alla Exposition Universelle del 1889. I suoi lavori si possono trovare oggi in numerosi musei in tutta la Francia.

Nel 1875 espose per la prima volta al Salon, dove, nel 1897, ricevette una menzione d'onore. All'Esposizione Universale del 1889 ottenne invece una medaglia d'argento.
