Celebrated artist Dimitra Milan’s extraordinary paintings can be found in private collections across the U.S. and Europe.

Born into a family of established artists, Dimitra has been developing her style and ability from a very young age at the Milan Art Institute in Arizona, founded by her parents, Elli and John Milan.

Whimsical and Surreal, Dimitra expresses herself through rich color and bold designs. Her paintings reflect a dreamy world where anything is possible and fearless subjects harmoniously coexist.

Her original art can be found in fine art galleries in Arizona and Hawaii.

Giving back to charitable causes continues to be an important part of Dimitra’s work as an emerging artist.

Her paintings are regularly donated to non-profit organizations that advocate against human trafficking and "Comfy Cozies 4 Chemo" which provides assistance to families and children with cancer. Through an intensive home school program, Dimitra graduated 2-years early from high school, allowing her to focus full-time on her art career.

Dimitra currently lives in Arizona with her family, and travels regularly to Hawaii and international destinations to experience the world and gain new inspirations.

When Dimitra isn’t traveling, she can be found at home outside of Phoenix either painting in her studio, or riding her horse in the picturesque Southwest outdoors.

La pittrice Americana Dimitra Milan ha un talento raro, quello di poter dipingere i suoi sogni. Proviene da una famiglia di artisti, i suoi genitori hanno aperto il Milan Art Institute in Arizona e lei ha iniziato a dipingere da piccola. A quanto possiamo vedere è stato tempo ben speso perché oggi Dimitra è già una pittrice professionista.

In una intervista a My Modern Met, Dimitra spiega il motivo dei suoi soggetti nella relazione tra uomo e natura, che dipinge in un’atmosfera sognante per dare la sensazione che tutto sia possibile. Pensa generalmente gli animali in modo simbolico e ama i predatori, ritratti in un momento di pace.

Il suo soggetto principale, cioè la donna, rappresenta per lei e per il pubblico il transfert, la possibilità di assistere a un evento soprannaturale, a una grande avventura. I predatori, nei suoi sogni non pungono, e non mordono, non sono pericolosi.

Tutti i paesaggi rappresentati sono una combinazione di posti in cui è stata realmente o in cui ha sognato di viaggiare. In molti dei sogni che fa, ha la possibilità di respirare sott’acqua e quindi di ammirare il fondale del mare della Grecia oppure le onde maestose delle Hawaii.

Un lavoro intenso e tecnicamente molto bello per questa ragazza appena arrivata alla maggiore età.
